Does Altona have a Taxi service?
If residents want to arrange a ride, Rhineland C.A.R.E. (Community Assistance Resources for Elderly) offers a car and driver on a fee-for-service basis for individuals who do not use a wheelchair. The C.A.R.E. Handi-van is used to transport citizens who do use a wheelchair. Please call C.A.R.E. directly to make arrangements: (204)324-1528.
When time permits, Life Enrichment staff at The Gardens on Tenth also provide rides on a fee-for-service basis. Please call them at (204)304-1368.
Who do I call to get my phone or TV hooked up?
Many residents use MTS for their phone and TV connections; please call their Customer Service line at (204)225-5687. If you prefer, you may go in person to the MTS Connect store at West Park Motors in Altona (248 Centre Ave East).
Satellite TV is also available from two stores in the Altona Mall:

Is there a hair salon on site?
Hair stylists are available to provide services to the residents in our on-site salons — Geri’s Place for Hair in The Apartments, and in the second floor Salon in The Gardens. How do I contact the Foot Care Nurse?
Residents or their families make their own arrangements for this service. Check the bulletin board near the reception desk for information.
Is there an Orientation Program for new residents?
Our Managing Director, Laurie Schellenberg, is available to answer questions for residents or their family or supporters. Our receptionist can provide all the necessary moving-in information new residents may require. Please call (204)324-8945.
